Rocky Mountain National Park
Less than 2 hours driving from Denver lies Estes Park, CO at the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Once in the park we start our beautiful drive on famous Trail Ridge Road (over 11,000 ft) along towering mountains and canyons, streams and meadows filled with elk. The drive ends at a beautiful trailhead high up in the mountains. From there you hike or snowshoe through pine for
ests, along mountain lakes, waterfalls, and spectacular rock formations. After a picnic with breathtaking views we return to civilization to visit the town of Estes Park where you can browse the local stores, eat an elk or buffalo burger and taste the local beer in one of the original town buildings. On the way down to Denver we briefly stop in Boulder, CO where you can walk around Pearl Street and soak up the unique atmosphere of this vibrant college town nestled in the foothills of the Flat Iron mountains. We drop you back off in Denver that evening or we can arrange lodging in one of Estes Park's cozy chalets next to a roaring river. You can hit the trail again the next day and/or visit Boulder, CO on your way back to Denver.

Weather in the Rockies can be unpredictable so bring some extra clothes with you. "Layering" is the best way to dress for activities in the mountains. We also recommend bringing/wearing hiking shoes (or sneakers with good ankle support), sunglasses, sunscreen, hat/cap, windbreaker, light gloves, and small backpack for personal belongings. Please consider that the temperature difference between the city and the trail location could be as much as 20 degrees.
-
Proper hydration is essential for performing activities at high altitude. Even though a sportsdrink is provided, you may want to bring an extra bottle. Some people encounter headaches due to the elevation. Water and aspirin is helpful in such case.
-
Denver Adventures can cancel the activity any time due to weather conditions or other factors. We will refund your money or apply it to a future trip.
-
The degree of difficulty of your hike depends on the information you provide on the Liability Waiver and Health Questionnaire and when you reserve your adventure.
